Moose and wildlife Photography Outing, June 22-26, 2026

June 28, 2026 By Dave Conley

We’ve partnered with Down East Magazine for a unique wildlife photography adventure in the heart of Maine’s North Maine Woods. We utilized two remote lakeside cabins on the shores of a lake renowned for its exceptional moose viewing. During this trip we had more than 60 moose sightings. Late June consistently offers some of the best opportunities to see moose, birds, and other wildlife. The best wildlife viewing and photography takes place on the water at first light and again in the late afternoon and evening. Participants  explored the small lake in solo kayaks, surrounded by spectacular landscapes and abundant wildlife, creating outstanding opportunities for nature and landscape photography. Below is a collection of what our photographers captured during our June 2026 outing.

Interested in doing this outing in 2027?  More info below gallery.

Cost Per Person: $2500.00

Your fee includes:

  • Meals
  • Cabin accommodations
  • North Maine Woods day-use and overnight fees
  • Round-trip transportation from Ashland
  • Solo kayak rental
  • Assistance on and off the water from Master Maine Guide Dave Conley

Whether you’re hoping to photograph a moose emerging from the mist, loons calling across the lake at sunrise, or the rugged beauty of the North Maine Woods, this adventure offers an unforgettable experience in one of Maine’s premier wildlife destinations. Physical requirements: Participants should be comfortable getting in and out of a kayak and paddling approximately 1 to 1½ miles on calm water during each outing.
