Another Canoe the Wild trip on the Allagash Wilderness Waterway in the books, 7 days and 6 nights with 10 canoe guests and 2 guides. We saw moose, river otters, eagles, beaver and more. We eat meals cooked over the open fire and desserts baked in a Dutch style oven. This is a great trip for first timers or seasoned paddler’s alike. Below are highlights of guided canoe trips with Canoe the Wild last season. We offer fully outfitted and guided canoe trips on the St Croix River (1-5 days), the Allagash (5-7 days) St John River (scheduled for early May 2024), the Bonaventure River (scheduled for June 2024) and the NE Mistassibi River which is scheduled for July of 2024. Canoe trips make for a great summer adventure vacation for individuals, groups and families. All the mentioned trips are a go for the 24 season and we are at about 70% capacity as of January 2024. Another 5 day Allagash canoe trip with Canoe the Wild , this one with the Maine Women Hunter’s group. We had high water and the bugs were not bad. Most of the rain fell at night and nobody joined the swim team in Chase Stream Rapids! Maine Guide Mark Hutchinson ran safety sweep canoe with Sharon in Chase Stream Rapids.
