Dave Launches Site to Sell His Allagash Images

April 24, 2025 By Dave Conley

After many years of being prompted to offer my work. I’ve finally done it and am featuring images from our Allagash Trips over the past several seasons. Below is an early morning image of a canoe with guests out looking for moose. The cool morning produced the fog which made this image! See our summer schedule here
The eyes have it! Seeing and hearing loons is always a highlight of any canoe trip. There is something about falling asleep to the sounds of loons. So neat to witness this loon feeding it’s young. Having a 200-600mm lens allows for getting in close to the action!
Seeing wildlife is a highlight of any trip. Seeing moose is high on the list of what folks want to see. In this image below, it was after a long days paddle and being early evening and having the batteries recharged from a good meal, I offered my canoe guests the opportunity to paddle about a mile and around the bend  in search of moose. While most were tired from the long day’s paddle, when I mention I thought we had a 50/50 change of seeing moose, most grabbed their paddles and followed.
Moose and Wildlife Photography Adventure in June with Down East Magazine, Stay in cabins next to a remote northern lake that we drive to, (not physically demanding). Below is an image of a moose I took while on this outing last June. we saw over 20 moose including several big bulls. While several of our guest captured images of big bulls, I wasn’t lucky enough to be in the right spot at the right time for the big bulls with my responsibilities back at camp.
I’ve launched a website displaying images from the Allagash Wilderness Waterway over the past several seasons. I’ll be providing galleries of individual trips this season where participants will receive a link to log on and view a private gallery of their trip and purchase prints and packages. As in the past, I’ll still continue to make available low resolution images of trips on my blog page (this page) and social media that are well suited for viewing and sharing online. Images can be bought as prints, on canvas or on metal and come in all sizes.  SEE MORE IMAGES HERE

Moose and Wildlife Photography Outing, June 24-28, 2024

July 4, 2024 By Dave Conley

A wildlife and moose photography outing at a remote Maine lake. Late June is prime time for moose viewing. Last season we spotted over 20 moose on the lake and tributaries and the area was teaming with birds and other wildlife.  We used Old Town Canoe  solo Loon Angler 126 kayaks and paddled in small groups both early morning and late afternoon into the evenings.  Accommodations include staying in one of 2 cabins or you can bring your own tent if you prefer. With new cuts on nearby ridges resulting in more feed, we expect to see the moose population in this area. Physical requirements involve getting in and out of a kayak and paddling around the small lake up to 1.5 miles and back. Note, pictures below are from last season’s outing and other previous outings at this location. Photo credits Dave Conley and Laura Zamfirescu. Next outing is scheduled for June of 2025
