Dave Conley of Canoe the Wild has been offering guided Maine moose hunts teaming up with Andrew Gibbs of Marsh River Outfitters and a great group of Maine hunting guides for many years. Our remote drive to wall tent moose camp is located in the North Maine Woods in WMD 1 (zone 1). We lease our location from the North Maine Woods, have insurance and a commercial use permit to do so. The northern most Wildlife Management Districts (WMD) 1,2,4 & 5 have the highest concentration of moose where the most moose permits are awarded. The September and October moose hunting seasons coincide with the rut, September being peak rut. We’ve been offering these hunts for many seasons with great success. Last season we went 9 for 12 on bulls. Below are two of those bulls harvested during the 2025 season. If you have drawn of permit in another WMD and desire to hunt with us, we can assist you with swapping your permit for zone 1. 
(Below) We’ve been quartering and packing out moose for over 15 years. This allows us to get on foot in pursuit of your moose. simply riding the roads hoping to bump into a moose is becoming a thing of the past as we’ve seen bulls over the seasons, especially the older bulls become more weary and learn to avoid the roads for survival’s sake.
